The main difference between Romantic Adventures and Marriage Retreats is the time spent participating in experiential learning versus the time spent receiving content in an auditorium type setting. During a Marriage Retreat, the emphasis will be placed on content, and there will be some opportunity for experiential learning. On the other hand, during a Romantic Adventure, the emphasis will be placed on experiential learning, and there will be some opportunity for content.

In order to participate in a Romantic Adventure, you and your spouse should be:

• · Ready to “play” more than just rest
• · Not afraid of heights for the Challenge Course adventure
• · Able to move quickly across campus (walking, jogging, running) for the Couples Quest adventure

No. All guests stay at WinShape Retreat where you’ll experience a private room equipped with a king-sized bed and private bathroom with a shower and dual-sink vanity.

WinShape Retreat is located on the campus of Berry College in Rome, GA, approximately 1.5 hours northwest of Atlanta, GA.

The dress for our adventures is casual. Throughout the weekend, you will be “playing” with your spouse. Whether you’re exploring campus, conquering challenge courses, or participating in other physical activities, you’ll need comfortable clothing. We recommend at least one pair of pants and a light jacket as well as layers in case of colder weather, rain, etc. You’ll also need closed-toe/closed-heel shoes (preferably athletic shoes). You will not need any money during your stay as all lodging, meals, snacks, and programming are included in your registration fee.

Our adventures do not provide time for one-on-one counseling with the speakers or other staff members. If you feel you may need more in-depth help or that your marriage is in crisis, please contact us or check out Marriage Intensives.

You will receive a detailed schedule of the weekend upon arrival, but you can expect breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as many “playful” experiences. There will be some time for content and debriefing of experiences led by a speaker. Additionally, you’ll have free time on Saturday. During your free time, you’re welcome to explore the beautiful Berry College campus on one of the many walking or biking trails. Please feel free to bring your bikes, or you can check out ones we have available. We also have a variety of other activities and games—fishing equipment, discs for our disc golf course, yard games, tennis rackets, basketballs, board games, etc.

The full amount of the event will be charged to your credit card at the time of the reservation. Once your card is charged, your payment is non-refundable. If your plans change, your reservation can be transferred to another adventure or retreat within one year of the date of the reserved event. This must be done at least one week prior to the retreat. A $75.00 transfer fee may be assessed. If you do not call to cancel your reservation prior to the event, you will not be able to transfer to a different adventure or retreat.
