About the Labyrinth

Psalm 84:5 “Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.”

What is a labyrinth?

  • A labyrinth is a form of prayerful pilgrimage used by the Christian Church for centuries to help believers focus on God. Unlike a maze, which confuses, a labyrinth guides with a single path in and out.
  • Historically, Christians couldn’t afford, or safely travel, to the Holy Land and walk in Jesus’ footsteps. So, the Church brought pilgrimage to the people by creating labyrinths in local churches, offering a way to symbolically “walk with Jesus” and remember His presence.

Why use a labyrinth?

  • Labyrinths help you slow down. They help you live into Psalm 46:10.
  •  “Be still and know that I am God.”
  • When you slow down, you are in a ripe position to experience God and His love for you. As you experience His love, it deeply impacts your marriage and close relationships around you.
