Marriage Retreat FAQ

Can I bring my kids to a Marriage Retreat?

While we love kids (and even have Summer Camps for them!), our Marriage Retreats are a place for parents to get away and focus on their relationship. Therefore, no infants or children under the age of 18 are permitted at these events.

What are the accommodations like?

Our accommodations are similar to that of a hotel. Couples will stay in their own private room, with a king-sized bed and a private bathroom. Linens and towels are also provided. In order to help foster an environment where couples can truly focus on one another, these rooms do not have TVs or telephones.

When are my check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the day of your arrival, with the first event being dinner at 6:30 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM on the day of your departure.

What is your cancellation policy?

Any payment for a retreat is nonrefundable, but it can be transferred to another Marriage Retreat within one year of the date of the reserved event. A $75.00 transfer fee may be assessed.

What can we do during our free time?

While you are here, you are welcome to explore the beautiful Berry College campus on one of the many walking or biking trails, and please feel free to bring your bikes. Just stop by the Front Desk to grab a map! We also have fishing equipment you can use, as well as discs for our disc golf course.

COVID-19 Update: Fishing poles and discs are sanitized between each use.

What do I need to bring?

The dress for your retreat will be very casual. Please bring comfortable clothing. We recommend at least one pair of pants and a light jacket. At most retreats, you will have the option of doing experiential learning activities, during which you will need to have closed-toe/closed-heel shoes (preferably athletic shoes). You will not need any money during your stay, as all of your meals, lodging, and programming are included in your registration fee.

Do you provide counseling at these events?

Our Marriage Retreats are all taught in an auditorium-style setting, and do not provide time for one on one counseling with the speakers or any other staff members. If you feel that you may need more in-depth help or that your marriage may be in crisis, we offer Marriage Intensives throughout the year.

Does my information request save me a spot in the event?

An information request does not save your spot in an event. But, if you give our Reservations Team a call at 706-368-6801 or send us an email at reservations@winshape.org we will be happy to start the process for you.

What changes have you made due to COVID-19?

In response to updated government guidance related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have reopened our doors to guests. We are so excited for the opportunity to serve you again, and we’re committed to doing it in the right and safest way. You can see all the changes we've made to our safety and sanitation protocols by visiting our dedicated COVID-19 page.
